The Opportunity:

Are you looking for an opportunity to architect and build enterprise data infrastructure that supports national security missions? You understand how to connect distributed systems, engineer reliable data pipelines, and make data usable across organizational and technical boundaries. You can translate mission requirements into practical architectures and carry those designs through implementation and sustained operations.

As a Data Engineering lead on our team, you’ll lead technical delivery supporting Department of the Air Force data, analytics, and AI missions. You’ll design and implement secure data architectures across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments, integrating authoritative sources and delivering trusted data products for analysts, applications, and AI capabilities.

You’ll remain hands-on: developing critical components, reviewing code, diagnosing production problems, and making engineering decisions about scalability, reliability, security, and cost. Working with mission owners, platform teams, data scientists, and cybersecurity professionals, you’ll establish reusable engineering practices and mentor other engineers.

You Have:   

• 7+ years of experience with data engineering, including technical ownership of production enterprise data infrastructure supporting DoW/DoD missions
• Experience architecting and implementing secure data integration across cloud and on-premises environments, including batch and streaming pipelines
• Experience with Python and SQL applied to complex data transformations, distributed processing, and production performance troubleshooting
• Experience designing governed data architectures with metadata, lineage, data quality, and access controls that enable enterprise discovery and reuse
• Experience leading hands-on engineering delivery and making architectural decisions involving scalability, reliability, security, and cost
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a technology field

Nice If You Have:   

• Experience implementing data fabric capabilities, federated queries, semantic layers, or domain-oriented data products
• Experience engineering AI-ready data infrastructure, including feature stores, vector databases, or pipelines supporting RAG and model training
• Experience delivering data solutions across classified environments, approved cross-domain transfers, or disconnected operational environments
• TS/SCI clearance

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
