The Role

As an Engineering Manager you'll lead one of our new AI product teams and own delivery, hiring, and people. You'll start with a small, senior team, and your first big job is hiring the engineers who will grow it. You'll partner with product as an equal, turn an ambitious strategy into a plan your team can execute, and make sure the quality of what you ship is measured. You stay close to the technology: you can review a design doc, read a pull request, and judge when an AI feature is ready for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hire, grow, and retain a strong team of software, ML, and AI engineers, with clear feedback and fair performance and career conversations
  • Own delivery: planning, priorities, execution, and production quality, with metrics that show how the team and its products are doing
  • Partner with product and domain experts to shape the roadmap, and lead across teams
  • Set how the team uses AI-assisted and agentic engineering tools, and model it yourself

Requirements:

  • Typically 8+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years managing engineers
  • Experience shipping AI, ML, or LLM-powered products to production, with enough hands-on depth in TypeScript, Python, and AI-assisted tools to make sound technical calls
  • A track record of hiring well and growing teams
  • A data-driven approach: you use metrics to run your team and to judge whether what you ship is working
  • Comfort leading across more than one reporting line, and strong written communication with executives

Nice to have

  • Experience running a platform team whose customers are other engineering teams
