You'll be Boom's first Product Marketing Manager, reporting to the Head of Marketing. You'll own how our products get positioned, launched, and sold, and you'll be the bridge between product, sales, and customer success. About the role

Product Marketing Manager

About Boom

Boom is the leasing operating system for the rental industry. We help property managers screen applicants, catch fraud, report rent, and make better leasing decisions faster, across single-family, multifamily, manufactured housing, and student housing.

Our products include BoomScreen (tenant screening and underwriting), BoomReport (automated rent reporting), BoomSidebar (BoomScreen data right inside AppFolio and Rent Manager), and an AI-powered Application Agent for renters. We ship fast, and we need someone who can tell that story just as fast.

The role

You'll be Boom's first Product Marketing Manager, reporting to the Head of Marketing. You'll own how our products get positioned, launched, and sold, and you'll be the bridge between product, sales, and customer success. You'll also use real customer data, like how much faster our users make leasing decisions, to prove the value of what we build.

This is a builder role. There's no PMM playbook here yet, so you'll write it. If you like turning a complicated product into a clear reason to buy, and you'd rather ship than wait for permission, keep reading.

What you'll do

  • Own positioning and messaging for BoomScreen, BoomCRM, and BoomReport. Keep our core messaging doc sharp and make sure sales, marketing, and CS are all telling the same story.

  • Run product launches end to end, from tiering and timelines to launch copy, enablement, and post-launch readouts. Some launches are a release note; some are a full campaign. You'll know the difference.

  • Arm the sales team with talk tracks, battlecards, one-pagers, demo narratives, and objection handling they actually use.

  • Know the market cold. Talk to customers, sit in on sales calls, track competitors like AppFolio and RentEngine, and turn what you hear into insights product and sales can act on.

  • Partner with product. Work with our CPO and PMs to shape roadmap input, name features, and make sure what we build has a clear reason to exist in the market.

  • Feed the content engine with product content for our newsletter, webinars, website, case studies, and social.

  • Measure what matters. Dig into how customers actually use Boom and track the metrics that prove our value, like time-to-decision on rental applications. Turn those numbers into proof points for sales, marketing, and case studies. You'll also own launch performance, win/loss, and adoption reporting.

What you bring

  • 4+ years in product marketing, ideally at a B2B SaaS, fintech, or proptech company

  • A data-first mindset. You're comfortable pulling and analyzing product usage data (SQL or a product analytics tool) and turning a metric into a story people care about

  • A track record of launches you can walk us through: what you shipped, what worked, what you'd change

  • Strong writing. You can explain a technical product to a property manager in plain English

  • Comfort working directly with product and sales, and the confidence to push back when the story isn't there yet

  • A bias for action. You're happy to work scrappy and figure things out without a big team or a big budget

  • Curiosity about customers. You'd rather get on a call than guess

Nice to have

  • Experience in property management, real estate tech, or the rental industry

  • Familiarity with tenant screening, fraud, credit, or rent reporting

  • You've marketed an AI product, an integration, or a Chrome extension

  • You've been the first PMM somewhere and built the function from scratch
