As a Senior Product Manager on the Payments Platform team within the Platform product group, you'll own how customers add and use bank accounts, cards, and digital wallets on Coinbase. Payments Platform builds and runs the systems that move customer money in and out of Coinbase, covering bank transfers, card payments, wires and real-time rails. Your work sits directly on revenue and customer trust: if a customer can't add a payment method, nothing else happens.

What you’ll do:

  • Own the multi-year strategy and roadmap for how customers add and use bank accounts, cards, and digital wallets on Coinbase, including the full funnel from first screen through linking, verification, and failure recovery.
  • Drive intelligent routing of payment onboarding across multiple payment service providers and banks, picking the path most likely to succeed and cheapest to run so a single provider problem never becomes a customer outage.
  • Shape the approach for confirming that a payment method belongs to the customer, partnering with Risk and Compliance to hold a measured line on fraud loss versus conversion.
  • Partner with Business Development and external bank and processor partners on commercial terms, integrations, and the next wave of payment capabilities.
  • Lead payment method cost and performance reporting end to end, surfacing tradeoffs to senior leadership and building platform capabilities that other product teams can reuse without rebuilding the plumbing.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 7+ years of product management experience with depth in payments, money movement, or financial platforms, and a track record of owning a payment or money movement funnel end to end at scale with measurable results.
  • Working knowledge of how card payments and bank transfers actually work, including declines, retries, verification, tokenization, and routing, with the ability to go deep with engineers on service architecture, APIs, and routing logic.
  • Strong analytical instincts, including designing experiments and holding a measured line on tradeoffs when the easy answer and the right answer are not the same.
  • Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
