The Summer 2027 Healthcare Analytics Data Science Graduate Internship provides graduate students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience applying advanced data science, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques to real-world healthcare challenges. This internship is designed for students who are passionate about using data and innovative analytical methods to generate actionable insights and improve healthcare operations and decision-making.

As a member of the Healthcare Analytics team, the intern will work alongside experienced data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to contribute to ongoing healthcare analytics initiatives. Projects may span a broad range of advanced analytical capabilities, including machine learning, knowledge graphs, time-series forecasting, statistical process control (SPC), anomaly detection, and interactive data visualization.

Depending on the intern’s technical background, research interests, and team priorities, assignments may include developing analytical methods to identify unusual provider patterns, applying machine learning techniques to healthcare data, leveraging knowledge graphs to better understand provider information and relationships, developing forecasting solutions, or creating interactive tools that enable stakeholders to explore and interpret analytical results.

The program provides hands-on experience throughout the analytics lifecycle, including data exploration and preparation, statistical analysis, model development and evaluation, visualization, technical documentation, and communication of results. Interns will use tools such as Python, SQL, Git, and GitLab while gaining exposure to collaborative development practices and potentially cloud-based analytics environments.

Through mentorship, project-based learning, and collaboration with healthcare analytics professionals, participants will strengthen their statistical, technical, problem-solving, and communication capabilities while contributing reproducible analytical solutions that support meaningful healthcare initiatives.
