As a Machine Learning (ML) Engineer on our Physical AI team, you’ll have the chance to impact national defense as a critical member of our research and development team. Your customer will trust you to not only design and develop these tools and capabilities, but also evolve them with advanced technology solutions. As an ML Engineer, you will support the prototyping team, helping our client evaluate and integrate new technologies into their mission. You Have: 

• 5+ years of experience developing AI, ML, or advanced analytics solutions
• Experience with Python and ML libraries, and building and deploying production ML systems
• Experience with agentic AI frameworks, LLM integrations, Azure OpenAI, or RAG architectures
• Ability to develop, enhance, and maintain ML models for anomaly detection, data quality assessment, and predictive modeling across workforce and operational datasets, evaluate model accuracy, performance, drift, and operational effectiveness, and refine feature engineering and scoring strategies with data science and engineering teams
• Ability to design, build, and maintain Azure-based data and ML pipelines, including automated scoring and model execution workflows, and develop scalable cloud-native solutions supporting batch and event-driven processing, orchestration, scheduling, monitoring, and AI workload health management
• Ability to support containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes, monitor production workloads, troubleshoot operational issues, and optimize AI platform reliability, performance, and cost efficiency while maintaining CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, and configuration management practices
• Ability to evaluate emerging AI technologies, contribute to agentic and orchestration proof-of-concepts, and communicate technical concepts, solutions, risks, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, effectively and clearly communicate and establish collaborative relationships with government clients, and work collaboratively and independently, demonstrating initiative to complete complex tasks 
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance 
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM

Nice If You Have:  

• Experience with Azure ML, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Azure Data Factory, or Azure DevOps
• Experience combining ML approaches with deterministic business rules and scoring frameworks
• Experience supporting federal or highly regulated environments
• Possession of strong written and verbal communication skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
